Keva (Michelle) Richardson (b. 1990, Baltimore, MD) is an African American artist whose work consists of spiritually, uplifting imagery aimed at recognizing and celebrating the multifaceted culture of her people. Her work uses color, text, spirituality and contemporary understanding to evoke the thoughts and emotions of viewers. Recognizing the lack of representation of Black and Brown bodies of artworks past, Keva shatters the master narrative, focusing her attention on Black and Brown subjects, often women, as the focal point of her works.

Keva received her BFA from Towson University, Towson, MD for Drawing, Painting and Printmaking (2013) and her MA in Teaching from The Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, MD (2022). In 2020, Keva became a published illustrator, creating the images for The Amazing World of STEM, a series of children’s books highlighting the STEM-related adventures of a young boy. Keva has been a part of many group exhibitions throughout her art career, spanning across cities such as Baltimore, Miami, Illinois and DC.

Keva currently teaches grades K-5 in Champaign, IL, where she continues to create and inspire, aiming to be an example for the next generation of creatives & kingdom builders alike, forever thanking God that He chose her for such a humbling task.
